Armare Optimist Strops were designed specifically for use on Optimist sailing dinghies to secure the sail to both the mast and boom. They are part of Armare’s One Design range, developed in collaboration with top level athletes, Olympic sailing teams, and world class dinghy coaches.

Dedicated to cutting edge innovation, Armare Ropes has built a long standing partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand, supplying ropes and synthetic cables for the team’s three consecutive victories in Bermuda (2017), Auckland (2021), and Barcelona (2024) and continuing through to the Naples 2027 Challenge.

Available in 1.4 mm and 2.5 mm diameters, Armare Optimist Strops feature a unidirectional Dyneema® SK78 core with a blended Cordura® and polyester cover. Unlike standard off the shelf Dyneema® cored twines, the unidirectional core provides slightly higher strength and reduced stretch compared to braided alternatives. Furthermore, the addition of specialized Cordura® fibers in the cover enhances grip and knotability beyond typical 100% polyester covered braids. Together, these attributes in the line provide better control and fine tuning of your sail.
